Gene Simmons Master Class at Rock Lives On

Gene Simmons Master Class at Millionaire Gallery's Rock Lives On

Imagine learning to play bass from one of rock music’s greatest legends. For at least two hours, he spends time helping you write a song you’ll later perform together in a small group setting. Then, you’ll take home a guitar of your choosing (AXE or Punisher Bass) signed by that very legend.

Imagine that legend is the singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, actor and co-leader of Kiss, Gene Simmons.

Now, stop imagining…and make it reality.

For one special day, Millionaire Gallery’s Rock Lives On will offer an exclusive semi-private class with The Demon himself – no experience required. In part one of that class, you may also invite a guest to sit back and enjoy the show in the audience. In part two, you and your guest will participate in a meet and greet and one-on-one photo opportunities.

This once-in-a-lifetime event is open to just 10 fortunate souls.

“Winning isn’t everything, but wanting it is… It’s a funny thing, the more I practice the luckier I get!” – Arnold Palmer.

Legendary gold icon Arnold Palmer passed away at the age of 87 this week.

The son of a greenskeeper, who wasn’t allowed to golf on the course his dad cared for, Palmer will forever be known as The King of Golf. A true champion, Palmer’s lifelong career as golf’s greatest ambassador led to accolades and achievements such as receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal, a 1974 induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame and bragging rights as the first golfer to surpass $1 million in earnings.

Batman’s Batpod up for auction

Via autoblog.com.

Via autoblog.com

One of the coolest toys Bruce Wayne ever owned will be up for auction later this month, according to autoblog.com.

One of six Batpods built for The Dark Knight and The Dark Night Rises films heads to the block on September 27. This is one piece that’s truly for show – there’s no battery, fuel tank, throttle, controls, etc but with a bit of elbow grease (and somewhere between $80,000 to $107,000 for purchase) it could be restored to it’s original glory in no time.

“Will you be wanting the Batpod, sir?”

Gone with the Wind actress Olivia De Havilland celebrates 100th birthday

It has been decades since Olivia De Havilland retired from Hollywood showbiz but but the Gone with with Wind star lives on…literally. In July, De Havilland celebrated her 100th birthday in Paris.

"Gone with the Wind" starring Vivien Leigh, Clark Gable, Leslie Howard and Olivia De Havilland. See more at Millionaire Gallery.

Known best for her role as Melanie in the film, starring in a supporting actress role across from Vivien Leigh’s performance as the vein and self-centered Scarlett O’Hara, De Havilland was accomplished far beyond many Hollywood starlets of her time – despite being “old” for an actress at the time. With 49 films, two best actress Oscars, and a best-selling memoir, De Havilland later starred in television roles in TV films and miniseries.

Her breakout role came in 1938 with The Adventures of Robin Hood, which would be nominated for Academy Award’s Best Picture that year. De Havilland went on to be nominated as Best Actress in a Supporting Role for the film though she would not win an award until 1946 for Best Actress in To Each His Own.

But it was her role as the endearing Melanie and Gone with with Wind legacy for which she will always be remembered.

10 facts every Coco Chanel fan should know

In honor of the style icon’s 133rd birthday (August 19), here are 10 facts that every Chanel fan should know.

Gabrielle Coco Chanel Ghost Signature Vintage Framed Display, Millionaire Gallery

Gabrielle Coco Chanel Ghost Signature Vintage Framed Display, Millionaire Gallery

Her story is one of true “rags to riches.”
Though she died a wealthy woman, Gabrielle Chanel was born in a poorhouse, the daughter of a street vendor.

She was raised by nuns.
After her mother passed away, Chanel was sent to an orphanage at the age of 12. It was there that she learned how to sew.

Her first career was singing.
Back when she was known as Gabrielle, Chanel sang atParisian cafes like La Rotunde . The songs, “Ko Ko Ri Ko” and “Qui qu’a vu Coco,”  led to her nickname,”Coco.”

She got rich off of inexpensive fabric.
Back in the 1920s, jersey was used primarily to make men’s underwear. Women wore expensive dresses made out of exotic fabrics. Chanel created her styles out of jersey and the rest was history.

Hollywood did not impress her.
The film producer Samuel Goldwyn offered Chanel a contract to Hollywood twice a year and design costumes for starlets. Though some silver screen actresses became clients, she turned it down and dubbed the town “the capital of bad taste.”

She had an affair with a Nazi officer.
During World War II, Chanel was linked to a noted spy, German intelligence officer Baron Hans Günther von Dincklage. Oh, la, la.

Her first perfume, Chanel No. 5, changed the fragrance industry. Introduced in1922, it was one of the first perfumes ever to mix natural and artificial essences. It was also the first fragrance to be named after a designer.

She influenced more than just clothes.
In addition to a new type of perfume, Chanel also inspired many women to adopt other new fashion and and beauty elements like doing away with corsets, sporting the “garçon” hair style, and daring to shorten skirts so that women’s ankles could be seen.

Reinvention was the name of Chanel’s game.
At the age of 71, Chanel reopened her famous fashion house in 1954. It had been closed for 15 years during the war.

She died in style.
Coco Chanel died at the age 88 in 1971 on her bed in a room at the Ritz Hotel in Paris. She had taken up residency there 30 years prior. It’s been reported that her last words to her maid were, “You see, this is how you die.”
